Install tile, stone, or plaster at the fireplace opening for a seamless finish or choose between a plain black ¾-inch frame and decorative matte black 1½-inch beveled front. This fireplace uses fine mesh barrier screens to prevent contact with the hot glass, keeping children and pets safe from danger. You can choose between millivolt or intermittent pilot ignition systems with the Empire Boulevard Contemporary Ventless Fireplace – 36. The millivolt ignition system comes with a simple On/Off remote control, while the electronic intermittent pilot ignition system comes with a multi-function thermostatic remote control and a battery backup to use during power outages. The multi-function thermostatic remote controls the flame height with six flame settings and also serves as a programmable room thermostat to help you achieve your ideal level of comfort. To enjoy a fire, simply press the On/Off button or use the Smart Thermostat feature to set and maintain your desired room temperature. For continual warmth and reduced heat fluctuations across the room, the thermostat anticipates heat production and adjusts the flame height based on the difference between the programmed temperature and the actual temperature.
